← All export guides TikTok: request and upload your data
TikTok lets you download a complete archive of your videos, captions,
comments, and engagement data. Of the three platforms, TikTok's
request flow is the simplest. Request takes 2 minutes; archive is
ready in 24–72 hours.
Request your archive
This works the same on the TikTok app and on tiktok.com. App is faster.
On the TikTok app
- Open TikTok and go to your profile (Profile tab, bottom-right).
- Tap the three lines (☰) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Under "Account", tap Account.
- Tap Download your data.
- You'll see two tabs at the top: Request data and Download data. Make sure you're on Request data.
- Under "Select data to download", tap Custom data.
- Check the box for Videos (this is the one that matters — your actual content).
Optional but useful: also check Profile, Activity → Comments (if you want comments preserved), and Activity → Likes.
You can skip Messages, Followers, App Settings, etc.
- Under "Select file format", choose:
- TikTok file (recommended) — a complete archive including the video files themselves.
- Don't pick "JSON" alone — that gives you metadata but no actual videos.
- Tap Submit request.
On tiktok.com (web)
- Log in at tiktok.com.
- Click your profile icon (top-right) → Settings.
- Same flow from step 4 onward.
Wait for the archive
TikTok takes 24–72 hours. Unlike IG and FB, TikTok does NOT email you
when it's ready (or at least, not reliably). You have to come back to
the app, return to Settings and privacy → Account → Download
your data, and switch to the Download data
tab to see if it's ready.
Set a reminder for yourself in 2 days to come back and check.
The archive sits available for 4 days once ready.
Download the .zip
- In the TikTok app, go to Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
- Tap the Download data tab.
- Tap Download next to your most recent request.
- TikTok will ask you to log in again to confirm.
- The .zip downloads. Filename like
TikTok_Data_yourusername_2026-04-18.zip. - For active creators, this is usually 500 MB to 5 GB.
Upload to your intake
- Open your intake page.
- Scroll to the Upload your platform exports section.
- Drag the .zip in or click to browse.
- Wait for the progress bar.
- Uploaded ✓ means we've got it.
What if the videos aren't included?
If you accidentally picked "JSON" instead of "TikTok file" you'll get
captions and metadata but no actual videos. Just submit a new request
with TikTok file format — your old one stays available too.
Stuck? Use the "Ask us" button on any question in your intake page.
